Rumour: Renault Kwid facelift launch in September 2019

According to a media report, the Renault Kwid facelift is likely to be launched sometime in September 2019.

The refreshed Kwid is expected to receive exterior updates inspired by the Kwid KZE electric car. Spy images suggest that the car might get a new grille and LED daytime running lights. The main headlamp is likely to be positioned lower down on the bumper. It could get black or silver ORVMs depending on the variant, a red roof and silver wheel caps. On the inside, the car could get a new dashboard and a digital instrument cluster. It could also get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

According to the report, the new Kwid is expected to comply with new crash safety norms that are set to come into effect from October 2019. 

Renault is expected to offer BS-VI compliant engines in the refreshed Kwid. These could include updated versions of the 799cc and 999cc, 3-cylinder petrol engines. The car is expected to be offered with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.
