I guess the Kwid was being offered with some discounts (20-30k) and Renault has used that money to keep the launch price same as the outgoing version. The 2019 Kwid will not have any discounts (my guess)!

Renault has just launched the 2019 edition !

Thanks Aditya , this information took me one step closer to buy the car .Was in the market to pick up a car for my son and had TD the 2018 KWID and was waiting for 2019 face lift .Will visit the showroom this weekend, lets see how things work out .

A welcome move. Kwid caused a disruption of entry level segments at its launch. Somehow, I think, it has lost steam over years. Another disruption caused by Tiago redefined VFM. Today, even the most premium variant of Kwid (Climber AMT) gets only one airbag. For that price range, the market already has products with Dual airbags.

In a way this is a biased comparison as I am comparing the highest variant with lower. The closest AMT+dual aribags+ABS with competition is 50k more i.e. Celerio VXI AMT (O). The point is, a safety conscious buyer who may like Kwid may get swayed because of unavailability of this feature.

My two cents for Renault:
1. please add dual airbags as optional
2. please add dual wipers

and price it at 5.3, we have another disrupter here.

3. Rear Washer-Wiper-Defogger (available in international model),
4. Power Folding and Adjustable ORVMs (same as above),

Saw this car in flesh few days back, front-end seems to go the Harrier/Venue way, didn't notice any DRL though. Overall size and shape of the car remains unchanged.

They seem to be going towards quite neat looking headlamp & tail lamp setups - including LEDs. Good!

At the same time I wish they invested a bit also into a proper 2 arm wiper setup up front. Won't increase the cost so much when these changes are being done which are also not too cheap.

That's one great looking car. Now only if they get the safety right and this would be a raving success. If I am not mistaken, it's got the best space in its segment.

Kwid has been a consistent seller doing 6K. It has one of the best inside space, good boot space, one of the better ground clearance, a 1l engine and still competes with Alto. Although, it's one of the lighter cars in it's segment.

By the looks in the picture, the front LED DRL integrates neatly with the new front grille. Should be helpful of Renault to maintain it's traction in recent times of uncertainty.
