That looks nice. Renault now needs to work on providing competent engines. Kwid's engine are below par and so is Tribers. WHile the cars are great, they are let down big time by their engines. Personally I find their service expensive too. 4-5K(Without add on) for Kwid service is on higher side.

Most importantly - accessibility & field replace-ability goes for a toss. Even a simple blown bulb change will need a visit to the A-S-S. The headlamps are pretty much right in front of the wheel well claddings. So bumper / wheel well cladding removal is pretty much necessary!

Top-spec variant of the updated Kwid will get an optional AMT gearbox.

In wake of the upcoming crash test norms that come into effect this October, the facelift will also receive structural upgrades. Other than that, there will be no mechanical changes.

Oh boy, didn't think of it. Haven't checked any of these cars personally. Do they have some slots or removable plastic bits on the cladding to access the headlamps. Few cars with similar setup in international market have removable flaps in the cladding to access the bulbs. I am hoping these cars have it too, else it has the potential to create an emergency situation out of it.

When the Datsun Go and Go+ are getting CVT why is the most popular and best selling model in Renault Nissan - Datsun still getting the AMT.

Why would you give the lower Datsun a superior CVT but the new facelift upgraded still gets AMT. Weird logic.

Looks way better than its chief competitor, Suzuki S-Presso.

Hope the quality has been improved. Other than safety, this car is an ideal city car for India. Cheap to buy and run, and has more room inside than some sedans!

Ahh! The Dial for the RND is placed now below the parking brake position if I rightly notice in one of the pics above ! Looks Jaguarish .. 8 inch touchscreen with Android auto and Apple car play too ( read it somewhere over net ) .. this kid is surely raising the bar at the A segment ..

I can't think of a single reason why anyone won't pick this over the S-presso.

The real world pictures of the Kwid look far better than the digitally enhanced ones from the S-presso! I especially like the tyres and wheels on this Climber edition. Kudos to Renault to give stability a priority. The wheel well now looks properly filled out. The new steering from Triber looks great too.

The new model should build on the brand-recall of the previous generation Kwid.
Renault seem to have a winner on their hands.

Maruti can pack up and go home on the S-presso.

There is still some more reflector glass area next to the marked lights which can house additional lights!

There is only one reason for not picking the Kwid - the reputation of unreliability it has built in the market because of which 6-7 versions of Kwid were launched with incremental quality improvements and Crash performance improvement packages.

The hideous S-Presso has no image in the market except it's ugliness. But ugliness never stopped sales of Wagon-R.
