Scoop! Baojun E100 electric car spotted

The Baojun E100 electric vehicle (EV) has been spotted India. Earlier, there had been reports that the car was being tested in India, however these are the first spy images.

The 2-door micro-EV was spotted near Gurgaon on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. It has an extremely short wheelbase of 1,600 mm with short overhangs and the overall height is 1,670 mm. It has an upright rear fascia featuring wraparound tail lights. Also, note that it is a left-hand-drive version.

In China, the Baojun E100 is built by SAIC-GM-Wuling and is offered with features like a 7.0-inch infotainment screen with Wi-Fi capability, touchpad controller, electric power steering and keyless entry. Safety features like ABS with EBD, electronic parking brake, parking sensors, pedestrian alert system and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors are also offered.

The Baojun E100 is powered by a single electric motor that produces 39 BHP and 110 Nm of torque, which allows the car to reach a claimed top speed of 100 km/h. Powering the electric motor is a lithium-ion battery offering a maximum range of 155 km on a single charge. It takes 7.5 hours to fully recharge the battery. The car also features a regenerative braking system.
