Scoop: Facelifted Mahindra Scorpio Automatic caught

We would like to thank Rahul Surve for sharing these pictures with us.

The facelifted Mahindra Scorpio has been spotted once more. This time, we have pictures of the car in automatic guise, shot at close quarters.

On a close inspection, we can see a new dashboard that is darker in colour than the current Scorpio. The dashboard houses rectangular AC vents with silver surrounds and a new instrument cluster with an MID.  There is a new steering wheel with mounted buttons to control the audio and phone on the left and cruise control functions on the right. While the steering wheel looks similar to that of an XUV500, it has a different colour scheme. There is a rotary knob mounted on the lower part of the dashboard, to the right of the steering. While the function of this knob is unclear, it is likely to be used to operate the car’s ORVMs. The Scorpio’s seats have blue and grey upholstery, which is a mismatch for the beige steering wheel.

The main difference between the pictures we’ve seen in our earlier reports and now is that these images show the car with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which is clearly visible.

On the outside, the Scorpio sports new alloy wheels with a snazzier design and chrome touches, shod with 235/65 R 17 Bridgestone Duelers. The wheel in the picture seems to be one on the rear right of the car and appears to have a drum brake, which means the car could have discs only at the front unlike the XUV500.
