The Hyundai Creta facelift was recently spotted in Yercaud, Tamil Nadu indicating that road trials of the updated Creta have commenced in India.

The latest spy image doesn’t reveal much in terms of its design, however we do know that the Creta facelift will get an updated front fascia with a new hexagonal grille with chrome surrounds and a new front bumper with integrated DRLs and fog lamps. The updated Creta is likely to get twin-exhaust tips and new design alloy wheels. Inside, the basic dashboard layout remains the same albeit with a revised trim. Hyundai is also expected to add a new touchscreen infotainment system that will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Creta facelift is likely to be offered with same engine options as the current model. These include a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel producing 89 BHP and 126 BHP respectively and a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 123 BHP and 151 Nm of peak torque. Hyundai currently offers a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions on the Creta.

The Creta facelift was first showcased at the Sao Paulo auto show in November 2016. Since then, the compact SUV has been unveiled in other markets of the world including China, where it is sold as the ix25. That said, there hasn’t been an official word regarding the variants, features or engine and transmission options of the India-spec Creta facelift.
