Skoda to bring out eRS models in the future

Skoda showcased its all-electric Vision E concept in 2017. The car is expected to be the company's first all-electric car and could go on sale in 2020. Media reports now indicate that future electric models could come with an eRS badge.

The Czech carmaker is known to make high performance variants of its regular cars under the vRS banner. These cars get a more powerful engine and other enhancements. However, electric cars under the eRS brand will have the same powertrain and battery output as the standard models but could feature revised exteriors and upgraded handling.

The Vision E-based car will be underpinned by the Volkswagen Automotive Group's MEB platform. It is expected to get crossover-coupe like styling with design cues borrowed from the Kodiaq. The electric car is expected to have a range of around 483 km. Reports suggest that it would be priced as much as the Kodiaq, which retails for GBP 30,000 (Rs. 27 lakh) in the UK.
