Skoda India achieves record sales in first 8 months of 2022

In the first 8 months of 2022, Skoda India sold 37,568 vehicles.

Skoda India has achieved record sales, becoming the third largest market for the brand globally, after Germany and the Czech Republic.

In the first 8 months of 2022, Skoda India sold 37,568 vehicles. It’s the brand’s best-ever sales performance since 2012 when it sold 34,678 units.   In August 2022, the carmaker registered a growth of 10% compared to the previous year with total sales of 4,222 units.

According to CEO Klaus Zellmer, Skoda India is on track to double its sales in 2022 compared to last year, courtesy of the Kushaq and Slavia. He added that the brand will maintain a balance between ICE and EVs going forward.

The Enyaq iV will be Skoda’s first electric offering for India. It will be imported via the CBU route. Having said that, Skoda does plan to produce EVs locally at a later stage.
