Skoda mulls local assembly of 4th-gen Octavia in India

Skoda is also considering the Octavia RS for the Indian market.

Skoda is exploring the possibility of building the fourth-generation Skoda Octavia facelift in India. The sedan could be assembled locally using CKD kits.

Petr Janeba, Brand Director at Skoda India, said, “We are exploring the Octavia for India because this car must come back. This could exactly be up to Rs 30 lakh, where we currently have no offering.”

While Janeba didn’t specify the exact timeline for the launch of the locally assembled Octavia, he did mention that the CKD Octavia will only arrive after the next-generation Kodiaq, which is due in Q2 of 2025.

“As a parts and components car, the Kodiaq is already decided. It will come in between April and June next year. The next parts and components consideration is the Octavia,” said Janeba.

According to reports, Skoda is also considering the Octavia RS for the Indian market. Despite being sold in limited numbers, the RS has served as a halo product for the brand. It also has a massive fan following among the enthusiast community.
