Skoda starts testing next-gen Skoda Fabia in Germany

Czech automaker Skoda has started testing the next-generation Fabia hatchback. The car was spotted testing at the Nürburgring in Germany.

Pictures suggest that the new Fabia borrows many design cues from the new Rapid sedan which is sold in international markets. There is a wide front grille and tail lights which resemble those of the sedan. The car has a sportier C-pillar and a small spoiler on the tailgate.

The new Fabia is said to be longer and wider than the current model, which will give it more interior and boot space. Engine options for the new Fabia are likely to be similar to the facelifted Volkswagen Polo.

Skoda is expected to showcase the Fabia at the Paris Motor Show in October. The car will go on sale shortly afterwards.
