Suggestions: Upgrading the Infotainment unit on my 2012 Honda Civic

I'm looking for something that fits in the existing enclosure, as I feel that size is perfect.

BHPian Dippy recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

My preowned 2012 Honda Civic that I bought in 2014 came with a Kaska head unit which was fitted by the first owner before he took delivery. The unit has now aged, looks old and the screen has a blue tinge on it.

I want to replace the unit now. I saw a 10 inch Android touch screen system but I felt it looked too big on the centre console. I'm looking for something that fits in the existing enclosure, as I feel that size is perfect.

Here is what it looks like in my car:

Need suggestions as to what brands I can look at to replace the Kaska system. Budget between 10 to 15k.

Thanks much.

Here's what BHPian nik0502 had to say on the matter:

There are various android units available in different screen sizes ranging from 7 inches to 10 inches. You can opt for the one you like. If you are unable to find a complete unit for Civic you can buy the bezel separately for the screen size you like. I have been using 10.1 inches in my Civic for some time now. Works great.

Here's what BHPian Mr.Boss had to say on the matter:

If the requirement is 2DIN with Screen mirroring or Android Auto and Apple Car Play, options are:

  • Sony XAV-AX1500 (screen mirroring only)
  • Sony XAV-AX3200
  • Blaupunkt New York 750
  • Pioneer DMH-A345BT (screen mirroring only)
  • Pioneer DMH-A4450BT
  • JVC KW-M520BT (Screen mirroring only)
  • Some are a little over Rs 15k
