Tata Altroz 1.2L Turbo Petrol spied

Spy images of the Tata Altroz, believed to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, have surfaced online.

The test car has a windshield sticker that says, "X451 1.2 VGTC BSVI". This indicates that the car might get a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre engine fitted with a variable geometry turbocharger. The engine is rumoured to produce around 100 BHP and 140 Nm of torque. It could be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

At present, the Altroz is offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 85 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 3,300 rpm. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit puts out 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1,250-3,000 rpm. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
