Tata HBX teased; Official name to be revealed on August 23

The Tata HBX will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the upcoming Hyundai Casper.

Tata Motors has released a few teaser videos of the upcoming HBX crossover on Instagram. The carmaker has also confirmed that the car's official name will be revealed on August 23.

The teasers showcase certain design highlights of the HBX. In the first video, you can see parts of the front fascia as well as its LED daytime running lights. The second video reveals its hexagonal tail lamp cluster.

The HBX is part of Tata's 'New Forever' range and has been described as "tough and sporty". It is based on the ALFA platform, which also underpins the Altroz.

The crossover is likely to be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 85 BHP and 113 Nm. Higher variants of the car might get a turbocharged 1.2-litre motor, while transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.
