Tata Motors has launched the Hexa SUV in India at prices starting from Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The top-end AWD variant is priced at Rs. 17.49 lakh. It is now the new flagship product of the home grown automaker.

The Hexa is available in three trim levels: XE, XM and XT. The automatic models get the XMA and XTA variant badges. Moreover, the top-end XT also gets an AWD variant, called the XT 4x4. As a result, there are a total of 6 variants on offer: XE, XM, XT, XMA, XTA and XT 4x4. Powering the Hexa is a 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine. In the entry-level XE trim, this engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and develops 148 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque @ 1,700 - 2,700 rpm. On the higher variants, the VARICOR400 engine is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the output figures are rated at 154 BHP and 400 Nm. The engine has an ARAI fuel efficiency of 14.4 km/l. The top-end manual trim also comes with an AWD system. Additionally, the MT variants feature four driving modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.

Safety features on offer include dual airbags and ABS + EBD as standard across all variants. The Hexa gets side and curtain airbags on the XT, XTA and XT 4x4 variants.
