A test mule of a Tata Nexon, equipped with an automated manual transmission (AMT), has been spotted in Pune. Just like in the case of the Tiago AMT, it appears that the Nexon AMT will be offered in XZA trim.

The XZA variant is expected to be based on the XZ+ trim. The images indicate that the car gets rear parking sensors and parking camera, shark fin antenna, 16-inch machine cut alloy wheels, roof rails and body-coloured door handles. The test car reportedly had front fog lamps as well. However, some features were missing on the test mule. These include a rear wiper, washer and defogger. It is possible that Tata has chosen to drop these features to keep the price competitive.

Tata Motors will launch the Nexon on September 21, 2017. The compact SUV will be available in four variants - XE, XM, XT, XZ+. The XZA variant is likely to be introduced early next year

The engine options for the Nexon include a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 108 BHP and 170 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit developing 108 BHP and 260 Nm of torque. Both engines will be initially offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox and will get three drive modes - City, Eco and Sport.
