Tata Nexon EV with longer range to be launched by mid-2022

The larger battery pack is likely to offer a maximum range of around 400 km.

According to a media report, Tata Motors is likely to launch a new variant of the Nexon EV featuring a bigger battery pack by mid-2022.

The long-range version will get a 40 kWh battery pack and will be sold alongside the current model, which comes with a 30.2 kWh battery. It is said that Tata has had to modify the floor of the Nexon to accommodate the larger battery. The overall weight of the car is also expected to increase by around 100 kg.

While technical details of the new variant are still under wraps, the larger battery pack is likely to offer a maximum range of around 400 km. The report also states that the Nexon EV will get different modes for the regenerative braking system.

The long-range version of the Nexon EV will be slightly expensive than the current model. It will compete with the likes of the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric.
