Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the Avinya concept. It also debuts the brand's Gen 3 EV architecture.
According to the company, the name 'Avinya' is derived from the Sanskrit language and stands for 'Innovation'. The Gen 3 platform will spawn a new family of EVs and the production version of the Avinya is expected to hit the market by 2025.
The Avinya concept is said to be inspired by a catamaran. Its design is an amalgamation of a premium hatchback, SUV and an MPV. The car features Tata's new brand identity as part of the daytime running lights. It also gets butterfly doors and a futuristic dual-tone interior that is made from sustainable materials.
The Pure EV Gen 3 architecture is said to offer next-generation connectivity and advanced driver assistance systems. Tata claims that the global platform offers high structural safety and offers improved water and dust protection.
The architecture is built using next-gen materials, electronics as well as Tata's own energy management system. The battery will support ultra-fast charging, estimated to provide 500 km of range in under 30 minutes.
