Tata Sierra EV's patent filing reveals new dashboard design

The new Sierra was showcased in near-production form at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.

Tata Motors has filed a design patent that has revealed the dashboard of the upcoming Sierra EV. The new SUV will be launched later this year.

As per the patent image, the Sierra will feature a completely different dashboard layout. It has a large touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and slim air-conditioning vents, giving it a modern and crisp look.

The Sierra EV is expected to get a digital instrument cluster and a 4-spoke steering wheel similar to some of the recent SUVs from Tata Motors.

We saw the new Sierra in near-production form at this year’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Its styling is inspired by the original Tata Sierra from the 1990s.

The new Sierra is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 168 BHP and 280 Nm and the familiar 2.0-litre diesel engine that currently powers the Harrier and Safari. This unit puts out 168 BHP and 350 Nm. The electric version will be based on Tata’s Gen2 EV platform and use the acti.ev architecture.
