Testing of a new Royal Enfield Himalayan variant continues

It is being said that the new Royal Enfield Himalayan variant could be a more affordable and road-biased version of the motorcycle.

Royal Enfield has been testing a new variant of the Himalayan for quite a while now. There have been multiple sightings of the prototype in the past. And now, the test mule has been spied once again.

It is being said that the new Royal Enfield Himalayan variant could be a more affordable and road-biased version of the motorcycle. It is likely to use a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel fitted with dual-purpose tyres. The riding stance would be upright and relaxed.

Other features of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan variant would include a single-piece pillion grab rail, split seats, disc brakes on both ends, bash plate, telescopic front forks and rear mono-shock.

Compared to the current Himalayan, this new variant would not get a windscreen. The front racks would be replaced by tank shrouds. The detailed instrument cluster would also not make it here. Instead, RE is expected to go ahead with a minimal-looking setup, perhaps, similar to the one which we have seen on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

Powering the new variant would be the same 411cc, single-cylinder engine that is being used in the current Himalayan. It is capable of producing 24.3 BHP and 32 Nm. Speculations say this model could be called the Royal Enfield Scram.
