Toyota Auction Mart - used car auctions now in India

Toyota has announced the launch of Toyota Auction Mart, its used car auction business, in India. The first auction is scheduled to take place on September 15, 2015 in a newly constructed facility at the Toyota plant.

Toyota Auction Mart, a first of its kind initiative in the Indian automobile industry, will start operations through a dedicated auction facility at Bidadi (near Bangalore) in Karnataka.

According to Toyota, every used car in the auction will be put through a 203-point inspection that will determine its current quality level. This 203-points inspection is based on global Toyota standards of QDR (quality, durability and reliability). Vehicles of all makes will be auctioned by Toyota Auction Mart.

Currently, Toyota Auction Mart is a B2B (business to business) model.

Globally, Toyota has been engaged in auctions through affiliates for more than 45 years.

Toyota has also got a used car business, which it operates under the U-Trust brand.
