XUV700 fails to start, but workshop can't find any issues; Confused!

View Forum Discussion

I showed the guy the video I had recorded and he said he had seen the same thing happening with other XUV700s at least 10 times.

So I had to go somewhere urgent today, sat in my car and pressed the start button but the car refused to start. The engine trying to crank but it seemed like could not. I tried for 6-7 times before giving up. Called up Mahindra RSA who were quick to respond and sent someone to home and they reached within an hour. They came with jumper cables & a battery suspecting the battery to be dead (it couldn't have been since I've been using the car daily).

I tried starting the car again to show them before connecting the battery and it started without any cranking or issues. I showed the guy the video I had recorded and he said he had seen the same thing happening with other XUV 700s at-least 10 times. Moreover, he told me it always happens randomly with no seeming pattern and as the next steps asked me to share the video with the service centre guys and also to ask them to check the fuel pump.

I'm very disappointed, software bugs are one thing but the car itself refusing to start is very concerning.

I'll share the video with the service centre guys and post if there are any updates:

Update on this:

I mailed Mahindra customer care and sent them the video. They forwarded the issue to the service center I get my car serviced at. So I dropped my car there and they kept the car for couple of hours. Later that day I got a call from them informing me they couldn't find any issues. They connected it to a computer and there were no error codes so they couldn't do anything about it (which is fair). The SA gave me his number and told me to get in touch if the problem ever occurred again.
