Yamaha RX100 could return in a new avatar after 2026

The Yamaha RX100 was produced between 1985 and 1996.

The Yamaha RX100, one of the most iconic bikes of the 90s could be back in a new avatar, but only after 2026.

Eishin Chihana, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India, has stated that the company wants to bring back the RX100 brand. However, designing a bike that captures the essence of an icon would be a big challenge.

He added that a modern incarnation of the RX100 could only arrive after 2026, as the company has other products lined up till 2025. Also, they don’t want to rush it as the RX100 has to offer an impactful package with a powerful engine and design.

The Yamaha RX100 was built between 1985 and 1996. It went out of production 26 years ago and it’s still a favourite among collectors and restorers. Spare parts for the bike are available even today.
