Porsche puts Paul Walker's death down to reckless driving

Porsche has put the death of Paul Walker, the star of The Fast and the Furious film series, down to reckless driving.

In December 2013, Walker passed away in a car crash in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California after the Porsche Carrera GT in which he was travelling, crashed and burst into flames.

In September 2015, Meadow, Paul's daughter, sued Porsche claiming that Walker was not killed by the impact of the crash and was alive when the car caught fire. The lawyers representing Meadow, claim that the car's seat belt 'snapped Walker's torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis' when the car crashed. This left Walker trapped in the car. The car caught fire nearly 90 seconds later and the actor breathed soot into his trachea as the vehicle burned.

The law suit also claims that the car was travelling at speeds of 63 - 71 mph (101 - 117 kph) when it crashed. Authorities had recorded the speed of the car to be between 80 and 93 mph (129 -  150 kph).

The law suit also claims that the Carrera GT has a history of issues with stability and control and the placement of the fuel lines played a part in the car catching fire and erupting.

Furious 7 has gone on to gross over $1 billion globally, in less than a month of its release.

Further details on the project, its cast or storyline have not been revealed, but sufficed to say – the fans are waiting.

Review: Furious 7

Oh dear, what a terrible movie.

Went for Furious 7 last night. Started off nicely with a drag race between American muscle & German horsepower. The 3D experience was also wow.

It was great to see the usual gang (Dom, Paul etc.) in action. But it dwindled shortly after. The movie has the stupidest storyline ever and the more the action scenes progress, the more ridiculous they get! Dom was like a circus man making his cars fly multiple times. Jason Statham fans will be disappointed to see his talent completely wasted in the movie.

Through the final hour, most of us were staring at our watches waiting for it to get over. What's even more upsetting is that, from being a car movie with some action, Fast & Furious is now a (silly) action movie with 'some cars thrown in' just for effect.

If the 1st instalment was a charmer, this one tries too hard with innumerable plots, twists & turns...failing miserably.Never thought I'd say it, but I'm rating this movie 2 / 5 stars, and even that's being generous. Better to watch Furious 7 once it hits the tube. Don't waste your time in the theatre. The only good stuff is in the first 15 minutes, and the classy farewell to Paul Walker at the end.

Now, I'm going to catch a rerun of Fast & the Furious 1 - or even Tokyo Drift - to clear up my head.

Furious 7 releases in India this week!

It was back in 2001 that we saw Brian O'Conner pushing a green Mitsubishi Eclipse to its limits in an empty parking lot. Back then the producers couldn’t have envisioned that the Furious label would become one of the most successful franchisees in Hollywood. 14 years and 6 movies later, the series is all set for its 7th release and the movie enters Indian multiplexes on April 2nd.

This time around, the movie features the key protagonists under attack by Shaw, a character played by Jason Statham. Statham (of Expendables and Transporter fame) joins the series for what is expected to be its last iteration, after a cameo at the end of the last movie. Furious 7 will also be the last movie where viewers will get to see Paul Walker in action. Walker’s tragic accident took place before the movie’s filming was completed and certain parts of the movie feature his brother Cody Walker.

The movie will feature some of the most thrilling and often far-fetched action scenes, along with a host of cars ranging from the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Ferrari 458 Italia and Bugatti Veyron to the Lycan Hypersport.
