Mahindra Supro Profit Truck range launched

The Supro Profit Truck Mini also comes with a CNG option, which produces 27 BHP and 60 Nm.

Mahindra has launched the Supro Profit Truck Mini and Maxi priced at Rs. 5.40 lakh and Rs. 6.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), respectively.

Supro Profit Truck Mini

The Supro Profit Truck Mini is powered by a 909cc, 2-cylinder, direct-injection diesel engine that produces 26 BHP and 55 Nm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It has two driving modes - Power and Eco and claims to deliver a mileage of 23.30 km/l.

The truck also comes with a CNG option, which produces 27 BHP and 60 Nm. It claims to deliver a mileage of 23.35 km/kg. The CNG version has a payload capacity of 750 kg and comes with a 3 year / 80,000 km warranty.

Supro Profit Truck Maxi

The Supro Profit Truck Maxi has a payload capacity of 1,050 kg. It rides on 14-inch wheels and has a ground clearance of 196 mm. In comparison, the Mini rides on 13-inch wheels and has a ground clearance of 170 mm.

The Maxi is powered by a direct-injection turbo diesel engine that produces 47 BHP and 100 Nm. Mahindra claims a mileage of 21.94 km/l.

The truck comes with a day cabin and a deck body cargo option. It is equipped with air-conditioning and power steering.

Mahindra Supro Ambulance launched at Rs. 6.94 lakh

Mahindra has launched a small ambulance based on the Supro platform. The Supro Ambulance is available in two variants LX and ZX and prices start at Rs. 6.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The Supro Ambulance is fitted with a foldable stretcher cum trolley, medical kit box and has provision for an oxygen cylinder. It has internal lighting, fire extinguisher and flame resistant interiors as well as an announcement system. On the outside, it has AIS 125 certified retro reflective decals, 75% frosted windows and a beacon light with siren. The vehicle can seat up to 4 persons. The ZX variant comes with air-conditioning.

The Supro Ambulance is powered by a BS6-compliant diesel engine that produces 47 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 100 Nm @ 1,600-3,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The first batch of the Supro Ambulance has been manufactured exclusively to meet the requirements of the Maharashtra Government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mahindra begins testing BS-VI compliant engines

Test mules of the XUV500, TUV300, Bolero and Supro with "BSVI-D" decals have been spotted testing, indicating that Mahindra has started road trials of its BS-VI compliant diesel engines. An image of an XUV300 with a BS6 sticker has also surfaced online.

Reports suggest that Mahindra is developing a new BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that is expected to power the next generation Scorpio among other models. The next generation Thar is expected to dump its 2.5-litre diesel for a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre unit. The XUV300 is also expected to get BS-VI compliant petrol and diesel engines.

The BS-VI diesel engines are reported to get selective catalytic converters, diesel particulate filter and exhaust gas re-circulation. The new emission regulations will come into force in April 2020.

Mahindra Supro Heavy Duty Series launched at Rs. 4.23 lakh

Mahindra has launched its Supro Heavy Duty Series in India. The Heavy Duty Series includes the Supro Minitruck and Maxitruck that are priced at Rs. 4.23 lakh and Rs. 4.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) respectively.

The Supro Minitruck comes with a cargo box that measures 2,280 mm in length, 1,540 mm in width and 330 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,950 mm while the gross vehicle weight (GVW) is 1,870 kg with a payload capacity of 850 kg. It comes with a 33-litre fuel tank.

The Supro Minitruck gets smoked headlamps in the front with Mahindra's 7-slat grille in the centre. The black plastic bumper houses twin reflector pods on either side. On the inside, the truck gets a dual-tone dashboard, a 2-spoke steering wheel and an instrument cluster with a small digital readout. It comes with 12 V charging port and wipers with adjustable speed.

The Supro Minitruck is powered by a 909 cc, 2-cylinder diesel engine that produces 26 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 55 Nm of peak torque @ 1,800-2,200 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The suspension setup comprises of 8 leaf springs in the front and a set of 7 in the rear. It comes equipped with disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear.

The Maxitruck is offered in 3 variants - T2, T4 and T6 and in cab-chassis and high-deck body styles. The loading bay measures 2,500 mm in length, 1,540 mm in width and 330 mm in height. The wheelbase of the truck is 2,050 mm and its payload capacity is 1,000 kg. The GVW of the T2, T4 and T6 variants is 2,090 kg, 2095 kg and 2,115 kg respectively. Fuel tank capacity is 33-litres.

The Supro Maxitruck has a similar front end as the Minitruck except that it gets a body coloured front bumper. The interior is finished in beige apart from the black steering wheel, air-conditioning vents and instrument cluster surround. It gets dual-tone door trims and seat fabrics. In terms of features, the Maxitruck comes with power steering, air-conditioning, 12 V charging point, bottle holder and a glovebox. 

The Maxitruck is powered by a 909 cc, 2-cylinder diesel engine which makes 45 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 98 Nm of torque @ 1,600-3,000 rpm and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The suspension setup on the Maxitruck consists of 8 leaf springs in the front and 6 in the rear. Also, it has disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear.

Both trucks come with a 2 years / 60,000 km warranty. Colour options include Diamond White, Deep Warm Blue and Metallic Red (Maxitruck only).

Mahindra launches the Supro Van and Maxi Truck

Mahindra launched the Supro Maxi Truck and the Supro Van at a price of Rs. 4.25 lakh and Rs. 4.38 lakh ex-showroom Thane for the BS III variants.

Supro Maxi Truck

The Maxi Truck is powered by a 909 cc Turbocharged diesel engine producing 45 HP / 98 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It has a max speed of 95 km/h and manages 22.4 km/l.

The truck has a 1,000 kg payload capacity and a 41 sq.ft. cargo box. It has beige interiors with black insers. Unique features of the Supro include air-conditioning, electronic power steering, bottle holder and a mobile charging point.

It is available in 3 colours - Metallic Red, Diamond White and Deep Warm Blue.

This vehicle rivals the Tata Ace and the Tata Ace Mega and is positioned right between these two.

Supro Van

This is an 8-seater van which is powered by the same 909 cc turbocharged diesel engine as the Supro Maxi Truck. Power / torque figures remain identical at 45 HP and 98 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Even though its top speed remains the same at 95 km/h, it's even more fuel efficient than the truck at 23.5 km/l.

The van measures 3,798 mm in length, 1,540 in width and 1,922 in height. The van features dual tone interiors, power steering, air-conditioning, bottle holder and a mobile charging socket. It is available in 5 or 8-seater configurations.

It comes in 3 colours - Metallic Lake Side Brown, Deep Warm Blue and Diamond White.

Additionally, both the Van and Maxi Truck get a 2 year / 60,000 km standard warranty. This vehicle goes up against the Maruti Omni and Eeco.
