Car companies in India: Whose website is as good as its vehicles

A decade ago, no one cared about these websites but now, people are ready to buy a car online.

Car companies in India are very active now. Buying a car has become a necessity for many now. Along with customer experience in a car dealership, nowadays, car companies are also making sure that their websites are excellent in terms of user experience.

10 years ago, no one cared about these car companies' websites but now people are ready to buy a car from a website. So for achieving this, car companies are ensuring that their websites are as good as their cars.

The car websites

Audi: The website is very smooth and has tons of information about their cars and is modern too.

BMW: Very smooth website, has tons of information and has a virtual experience too.

Lexus: Decent website, gives information about their cars in detail.

MG: A good website with excellent configurators but a bit laggy.

KIA: One of the best websites of car companies in India.

Isuzu: Okish website, too old and no modern features, looks cluttered.

MINI: Good website with excellent features and good user experience.

BYD: Nice website and it is very smooth and responsive. Good amount of information is present too.

Honda : Very good website with one of the best car configurations.

Jeep: A bit cluttered but is very responsive. First-time users may find some difficulties

Jaguar: Nice website with a good interface.

Hyundai: Very nice and responsive website.

VW: Decent website but the configurator takes forever to load.

Skoda: Nice and simple website.

Mahindra: One of the best website car configurators and is smooth too.

Land Rover/Range Rover: Awesome website with its own build feature.

Maruti: A bit cluttered but smooth.

Mercedes: One of the best websites with a buttery smooth experience.

Porsche: Very good website with good information.

Nissan: Very good website.

Renault: Good user experience.

TATA: A bit laggy and cluttered.

Toyota: One of the best car websites.

Volvo: Very smooth and responsive website.

Citroen: Suprised, had a very good experience!

The lag which I mentioned might be my device's issue. All the above views are my views and they will change accordingly from person to person.

Kia Carnival's India webpage goes live

Kia India has launched the official website for the Carnival MPV. The website says 'Coming Soon' and lists features like dual-panel electric sunroof, VIP rear seats with entertainment system, one-touch power-sliding side doors and a powered tailgate.

The Carnival has a tiger nose grille at the front with twin-pod headlamps and LED fog lights. It has dual-tone bumpers and wraparound tail lights. The website indicates that the Carnival is likely to get power sliding rear doors. It has dual-tone interiors with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, twin-dial instrument cluster with a central MID and a touchscreen infotainment system. In global markets, it is offered in 7, 8 or 11-seater configurations.

The Kia Carnival will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which produces 199 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 441 Nm @ 1,750-2,750 rpm. The engine could be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Nissan Kicks website & teaser released

A website for the upcoming Nissan Kicks SUV is now live. The carmaker has also released a teaser video showing the design sketch of the India-spec Kicks.

The teaser images suggest that the Nissan Kicks could get a V-shaped grille and wraparound headlamps featuring integrated LED DRLs. The SUV has a high shoulder line and a gently sloping roof with roof rails. The car also appears to have flared wheel arches. 

The Nissan Kicks is based on the same platform as the Renault Duster and Captur. It is expected to be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. Reports suggest that the Kicks could be launched in January 2019 with prices ranging from Rs. 10-14.5 lakh.

Hyundai starts online bookings for its cars in India

Hyundai has started accepting online bookings for its range of cars in India. Customers can now book any Hyundai car, ranging from the entry-level Eon to the flagship Santa Fe, through the company's official website. Booking amount for the cars ranges from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 1 lakh.

With the facility to book cars through its website, Hyundai is aiming to enhance the virtual experience of its customers. This will enable prospective owners to book any car, without the need to visit the company's dealerships. The company is also claiming that this new platform will make booking a car much easier and faster.

Online bookings for Hyundai cars have commenced from Tuesday, May 2, 2017. In order to register a booking, customers need to select the car's model, colour, variant, fuel type, state, city and preferred dealership. Customers can book any Hyundai car through the desktop as well as mobile versions of the website.
