Iv not heard of it so I will ask around. How much will a sheet for 1.8k cover?

@Eddy 5.2k is a little on the lower side but its possible.

Thats why I told him to ask whether the chap is stamping each and every warranty card and would put the details on the vat bill

This ensures everything is fine an dandy. He can send in the warranty card to JBL and it would ensure peace of mine.

5.2k for JBL GTO 607c is not a suprise at all. You can get them lower with B&W, i am getting it for 5k here without even bargaining

thank you Ishan , tanveer and Mr Rana for your help and support
Here it mentions JBL 607 to be 4.5 without B&W. That makes it around 6k with B&W ?

Arre buddy, different people will give different rate. I got them for Rs. 4800 with B&W, and they came from Sahil International ka office right in front of me. It had Rs. 6500 stamped on it and was totally packed and sealed from Sahil itself. Trust me the rate which your installer is giving is genuine as JBL GTO 607c have been going for around that much. If you are spending 6k, then why get the GTOs? I would be auditioning Ground Zero, Illusions, Infinity & a whole lot of other speakers as well

Hi All,

I went to the Fry's in San Jose yesterday, but i didnt find a good deal there. So, came back to Best Buy and got the best deal of Kenwood MP435U for $140. It has USB, ipod slots and is Bluetooth enabled. I think its a good deal. Please comment!

Also, i looked out for speakers but first i was taken aback for them as all the speakers had a dimension of 6.5' and the swift has 6' slot. Later i found through the thread that this is normal :P.

Well, i couldnt find the JBL's and the Infinity's in these stores but found a lot and cheap in the Websites like ebay.com. GTO 607 & GTO 636 (new) for $105 & $85 resp after shipping chrges. similarly i found infinity ref6010c for around $140 in woofersetc.com.
So my questions are,
1. Is it ok if i go ahead and buy through online. Do they give a genuine and brand new?

Its okay to buy online has long has you have a secure shipping address and the seller is verified.

GTO 607$ = Rs4000 approx

For another 1k you could buy locally with B&W and have peace of mind for a year. Also not having to carry back those huge boxes, if grey is okay then they would match those online prices and you would have some sort of a "good faith warranty" if you went to a known installer.

Sometimes buying locally makes sense. If you were to buy something there thats not available here for example then its justified.

That being said the fool that I am I would have probably bought overseas and carried it with me if I had the baggage allowance

hey guys now in the above setup if i replace the GTO937 with GTO637, how much difference will it make to the sound?
The reason is i want to use the stock speaker location on the rear doors instead of using a rear parcel tray..

Go for the 937, the 637 wont make as good sound as the 937, you want Bass, then 937

Yup, but if you want it to play loud then 937s would be apt.

The thing is im worried about the parcel tray rattling and also taking up even more space in already small boot..
Do the MDF trays rattle or are they fixed firmly to the car?

Well, so long as you're under 150dB, I think you're safe. :P
