@Navin - What would you recommend (from an audio experts point of view)?? Will SoundFX (recommended by BUSA)do it professionally so that it doesnt look as if the car has been ripped!!!

Any specific recommendations for HU models (i need USB and Bluetooth connectivity)?

Sorry LBM - didnt see your reccos - since i am not an audio expert, but appreciate the nuances of these things, what in your opinion is a good bet on placement of tweeters in a Swift VDI?

Confused about what to get for my Swift

Hi!
I am a newbie on this forum. Tried reading through the forum but the more am reading the more am getting confused. Well have finally booked my Swift, expecting its arrival in 2-3 days time, n now am damn eager to do it up nicely with a powerful system.
The budget is around 40k including everthing i.e. the mouth, speakers, amp n would like a subwoofer to fit in the budget. I basically listen to tech trance all the time, so the clearity is damn important to me at the same time i need the punch to be coming from the system (so thinkin of a sub).
Will be really grateful for any kinda of suggestions. Hope u'll will help me out.
Thanks in advance.

Yes Soundfx are quite professional, i have mounted by tweeters on the doors and you have no clue its aftermarket, its looks like a factory install do dont worry about it. Just go to them, they will put the tweeters where they should be. Trust me you wont even reliase that any cutting has been done.

Kenwood has one with USB without B&W for 6k, Pioneer 7950UB is 9.5k again grey, none have bluetooth, if you go and spend more for a HU just for Blue Dath, you wont be able to do justice(moneywise) on the speakers.

I think you should tell us your HU requirement, you want USB?

You can finalise on the amp JBL 75.4 so 13k for that, remaining 27k, 2k for RCA Cables, 2k for damping on the front doors remaining, 23k, a GT 4-12 sub comes around 5000 so remaining 18k for Speakers, you can get infinity.

If ipod compatibilty is your only concern then you can even go for DEH-5950 IB. It will be cheaper than 6950 and has almost same functions except 7 Band Equlaizer and number keypad on remote control

DEH-P5950IB

Don't know about other HU of other companies, but as far as I know, there is none in pioneer which offers both in one unit. But you can find many units where you can have these functions after attaching their respective accessory.
Like DEH-P7900BT , It has bluetooth built in, but you would have to buy a USB interface adapter for $120. Pioneer Electronics - Sound. Vision. Soul

But this is from Pioneer US website. Didn't find any model in Pio S'pore website ( whose products we find in India ) which has Bluetooh built in. You r bet in that case would be to go for DEH-7950 which has USB adapter and got for its Bluetooth accessory.

I was just surfing the product websites of all HU brands. Blaupunkt has a model called Hamburg MP57 on their India website.
Blaupunkt - Head-units - MP3 Head-units - Hamburg MP57

The features are
MP3/WMA playback from CD-R/RW, USB
FM, MW, LW
Full-graphic display with convenient, 3-line MP3 browsing
Bluetooth integrated for hands-free car phone operation and call answer/end via the car radio
Integrated USB port to connect and control external mass storage media
Front Aux-input for external music sources (e. g. MP3 players)

3-band equalizer
4-Channel preamp out to control external amplifiers (front/rear)
Sub-out for subwoofer control (variable level/frequency)
4 x 45 Watts Max. power
Flip release panel
Pre-equipped for navigation voice output
iPod-ready: iPod connection with optional interface

Any views/opinions on this one anybody? It should be available in India as it features on their India website. Any idea on the price.
And more importantly will it go in perfect with JBL speakers recommended earlier?

Where is SAM??

@ BUSA - Whats your opinion on Hamburg MP57 HU or Blaupunkt in general??

CBZ, I think your questions have been answered. Like LBM says use double sided tape to see what looks/sounds best to you and then only cut up the door or A pillar. Blau is serviced by Mico Bosch and they offer fantastic service.

mariaprabhu, you may use the same advice given to CBZ for the install locatiosn of teh component speakers.
