I agree totally considering that its the same engine in Swift and GP.

If priced similar to Swift and i am sure FIAT has a winner here, the reason being

1. people love new things
2. Swift delivery time is huge

And it makes sense for FIAT to price it similar to Swift, and i am hoping the same.

Gr8 Sid. Now just wait for the pricing. Can you sneak that in too?

Car seems to be fairly well equipped, I think almost as well equipped as the Linea. Pricing is the key, and looking at Linea prices, I hope we are not disappointed this time around, either. Whether the pricing will get over Fiat's image is another story.

My friendly dealer says top end diesel for around 6 lakhs (ex-showroom) but I am unsure. If it is, then one gets a very well equipped hatch (emotion+) for around Rs 6.6 lakh OTR.

Great Work as usual, SID. Thanks a lot!

My guess is that the E+ Petrol will be Rs. 5.5 L OTR Pune and the Diesel E+ will be Rs. 6.5 L OTR Pune.

the same engine in SWIFT/RITZ/VISTA is been called an awesome peppy engine. so why not here?
Also a bigger engine/VGT would have to be priced higher .

They have reduced it by more than what was required. The rear bumper as a result is more flatter here compared to international, which is more curvy.
GC is increased to 165 from 160

Wink Confirmation from Chennai

I walked into Concorde showroom in Ambattur and the lady confirmed that the Punto test cars have reached their stockyard. Washing and Stickering in process.

Also confirmed that the leaflets and pricing has reached them...

Just my PR skills were not enough to get a copy from the lady behind the desk.

And SID you were bang on...

Great insights on the technical specs Sid, Looking at the warranty, it looks like FIAT is quite confident about the GP.

The ground clearance of 165mm looks quite low especially in a city of suspension breakers (Bangalore).

Is 30,000km oil change applicable for Diesel engine also I guess not?

Great scoop, any pics about interior? I am eager to see E+ variant interiors. I think if top end diesel sells around 6.8 OTR in Pune, it will be great. I am buying it if it satisfies 2 conditions -

(1) The overall package including interiors look more upmarket, I am little skeptical about Fiat's plastic quality.
(2) If priced below 7L OTR in Pune.

Keeping my fingers crossed, I am almost 99% sure about second condition though. Sid, please post some pics man!

Great scoop Sid. If Fiat plays its cards well (as well as they have played with the Linea if not better) this car can do wonders for them.

Sid does it again. Car seems to be well equipped. Now its the pricing that will decide the fate of Grande Punto (and FIAT). Best of Luck FIAT .

Great work SID. The diesel top end can be a winner in the hatch segment if priced correctly in the 6-7 lakhs range.
