I have posted the initial ownership report (1800 KM) which includes details on fuel consumption...

And Outlander sold 70 pieces in March, which I guess the highest in a single month for this machine. Does it speak about something?

Sure does.

1. Pajero - a decidedly older product that is also outdated - sold three times as much (200 units). Reason = Diesel.

2. 70 is in the first month of launch for the facelift. It will eventually settle down to the 30 - 40 unit level.

Combining both the points really tells me that the Outlander would sell 4 times as much if it had a diesel engine under the hood.

For the 2nd time ever, today I saw an Outlander on road. It should be "spotted" instead of "saw". Looks fine, but the size is similar in looks as that of the Grand Vitara. Like it's not a bull like Safari, Fortuner or Pajero.

On a side note, I still wish the current Pajero lives with better interior, engine and everything, except the current deadly front imposition (as long as it retains the genes).

EDIT:

From the Official Press Release

The open jaw grill design works only on the EVO. I like the looks of the pre facelift Outlander much better than the current one.

I like the new design perhaps it is few years ahead of its time. There is nothing like this on the Indian roads and it distinguishes Outlander from most of the other boxy SUVs. Very futuristic and it gives lot of character to this fabulous SUV.
