re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

Wonderful Ravi Sir, the yellow TBHP sticker looks outstanding on the FTA colour. I am very keen to know the details of your 4th servicing. I hope the parts & labour costs would be quite reasonable. A Linea with a 1.6 Litre MJD under the hood (whenever it is launched) is my dream machine.

OT: Last Saturday I got the 100K service done for my Indica. Though it was done from an independant workshop, I didn't have to shell more than 5.2K for the parts (three belts - Timing, AC & Alternator, two bearings, tensioner pulley, engine oil, gear box oil, all the filters - air, oil, fuel etc) & 1.2K for the labour. For further details please refer my ownership thread, message #74 --> http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...-beyond-5.html

Fourth Paid Servicing At Concorde Motors, Mysore Road, Bangalore

Yesterday [19 October 2011], my Linea had her fourth paid servicing done at Concorde Motors, Mysore Road, Bangalore at 35,432 km after two years of purchase. The following were replaced: engine oil, oil/air/fuel/wire-mesh filters, transmission oil, power steering oil, brake fluid, 4 spark plugs, coolant, front brake pad set, rear right brake lamp bulb plus servicing, brake overhauling and general check-up. I handed over my Linea to the service advisor at 9:45 am and got her back by 5 pm. I paid Rs 11,010 - amount well-spent considering my Linea took us to Khardung La and back safely.

As usual, I gave 10 out of 10 in the instant feed-back form given to me by the service advisor as I was fully satisfied with the work done by Concorde Motors, Mysore Road, Bangalore.

Now, my Linea is fit as a fiddle for the next marathon trip!

Here are the links to my posts on the previous services of my Linea:

Thanks for sharing the servicing details Ravi. Will go through each of them & get back to you if I need any clarifications. Hope you don't mind answering my queries. So now that your Linea is all refreshed & raring to go, which is the next mission/ expedition?

Maybe Bhutan, Sikkim & NE states, or perhaps, Palitana, Gujarat in 2012. Not yet decided.

Ravi Sir, I went through the details of each & every service. Hats off to you, your car & Concorde for carrying out all the services smoothly (against the popular belief that the authorized service centres mostly screw up your cars rather than resolving your issues). Most importantly you had absolutely no issues & it was just a matter of the regular scheduled servicing, which Concorde guys have done without any hassles, they deserve full marks. I have noticed just one discrepancy, may be you can clear it. Your latest service invoice mentions "Oil change service (every 10000kms) 45K service done", is this a printing mistake & shouldn't it be 35K service done?

I believe your free services are over now & this was your paid service. When is your warranty getting over? The period after the warranty is over would be crucial & hope Concorde guys service your vehicle in the same spirit as they did in the pre-warranty period.

Thanks, AutoIndian. The fourth paid servicing is due at 45 k km or after 15 k km or 1 year from the third free servicing, whichever event occurs first. In case of my Linea, the third free servicing was done at 23 k km in June 2011. I drove about 12 k km after the third free servicing. But, my Linea required replacement of front brake pads as during the last service itself, the SA informed me that the brake pads would last for about 10 k km more, but it lasted 12 k km! And, I decided to change the filters, oil, fluids, etc., after this marathon trip. So, I decided in favour of fourth paid servicing after 12 k km although I could have waited for another 3 k km more.

The SA showed me the check-list of works to be done at 45 k km and informed me that all the checks/works as per the check-list were done.

Cara Mia Fiat Linea Gets New Chrome Mirror Covers

Today, I received a registered parcel from Partsworld-UK containing a pair of chrome mirror covers for my Linea. I paid Rs 4565.90 [GBP 57.44] from my PayPal account on 13 October 2011. Perhaps, a belated present to my Linea on her second birthday! I used a discount coupon code of FF010, thanks to FIATforumdotcom. I had bought a key chain with FIAT logo and Blue&Me adopter from the same seller earlier. I am fully satisfied with this seller.

The chrome mirrors look smashing. Just a query, apart from the improved aesthetics is there also any functional advantage with chrome finished mirrors e.g. reduced drag or better aerodynamics?

Ravi Uncle.

It feels great to meet a true automobile enthusiast from Bengaluru in LEH!

The crome mirrors are looking fantastic! Gels well with the color and doesn't look like a bling mod.

Thanks, AutoIndian. The chrome mirror cover is identical to the OE cover in design and shape except the chrome finish. So, no change in drag and aerodynamics.

Thanks a lot, Karthik1100, for the compliments. The moment I saw your Bangalore-registered Ford Endeavour at Sonamarg, I knew, it must be you!

One question Raviji,
Watch the attached thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...radesh-49.html

Did you traveled through the same route passing those kacha 'No-roads' with Linea?

Please go through my travelogue titled Leh in a Linea for details. My Linea went on this route: Chennai>Nagpur>Amritsar>Srinagar>Leh>Khardung La>Leh>Srinagar>Chandigarh>Surat>Bangalore. I detailed the worst road conditions between Nagpur and Gwalior and stretches near Zoji La and Khardung La.

No, I was not disputing your going to Leh, even distantly. But was it the same route or some other route was my query.

I can understand broken roads, strewn with metals and boulders.

But Some stretches are double-guttered ones, good for battle tanks alone !

How did you manage there? Is road wide enough to zig-zag to evade the gutters ?

That's why, I chose Srinagar-Kargil-Leh route for both up and down journeys, which was comparatively better than the Manali-Rohtang-Leh route.

Yeah, that is it...
But is Srinagar-Kargil-Leh route long than the Manali-Rohtang ?
