i am planning to pull out those punny oem horns and fit the roots windtones. i love these which work great in my alto.

so no relays, no wire cutting. how did you connect the OEM horn connectors to the roots horn pins. they have different types of connectors.

re: Power Horns!

Have been using Bosch Symphony in my Shark since April. Got them for INR 500 IIRC. No problems so far and they have been thoroughly satisfying on Highways. Pleasing and effective sound I should add.

Got it for 700 bucks through an authorized distributor. Couldn't speak to the guy yet due to office, would do that next week & seek a replacement.

hope yours is running fine.

re: Power Horns!

I believe the horns in Skodas & VWs are either from Hella or FIAMM. Though, I would request others to correct me if some one knows better.

You're welcome, Munish. Glad to hear you installed them.

How do you like the horn? Post pictures/sound/video clip to tease the others

Hi Flyingkolors,

I did a TD of polo once and loved that horn. I have booked ALTO K10, and would love to replace the stock horns with Roots Windtone.

Since replacing any electrical component in a local accessory shop may result in the warranty to get void , Any idea if i can ask directly the Maruti Suzuki dealer to install these?

Thanks,
Sushil.

re: Power Horns!

Just installed the Stebel TM80 Magnums in my wife's Accent.

The sound is great. Feels more bassy than the Hella Twin Tones in my car, but then I feel the Twin Tones are louder and more crisp!

A side by side comparison is scheduled for ASAP. :-)

Please check with MASS if that voids the warranty. It may not IMO. When I upgraded in my i20, all we had to do was use the existing relay, attach additional wire (for the second horn since i20 comes with single horn) and replace the horn. Simple work.

Quoting my own comments - the verdict is as suspected.

Stebel TM80 are more bassy, more like the skoda horn (but louderrr).

The Hella Twin Tones are way louder and less bassy - ideal for traffic conditions.

Take your pick!

I can also vouch for that tm80 is more bassy but not so loud as say the Bosch Symphony, But Hella i found them to be louder than TM80 but does not sound like Symphony horns, but i am not able to find these Bosch I had fixed them on my zen and they were perfect in terms of loudness & bassiness (if there is such a word)
