| Senior - BHPian | There is great excitement with a lot of automotive restorers and part suppliers putting forth information about the Maharaja Cars that will feature at the Pebble Beach concours this here. Here is a link to the Daimler belonging to erstwhile Maharaja of Rewa. They promise more on the car will follow. Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, 2012 |

| I doubt that the Daimler will participate this year, it has come in the past. And it belonged to Rewa, now not. As far as I know, still 4 cars are going from India. The Rajkot Rolls could possibly have gone, but was discouraged ![]() Cheers harit |

| Hi I am in the process of restoring a previos Mysore car. It is the Dilambda1929 (Myr 149) open tourer with Viotti body..Considering its age the restorer was gobsmacked by its total originality. I needed to have the radiator recore and the water pump overhauled. Work in progress and will give update. Iunderstand there are 4 such cars in uk and bout 20 worldwide. Anybody have any idea where they are all? Elaine Moore |

Please post some pictures of your car for us to enjoy ! As far as I am aware there are atleast three to four Dilambda cars in India and atleast two have open tourer bodies by Viotti. Pictures can be found on this forum but you will have to look for them !

I would imagine that your car just needs a gentle TLC, she looks nice in pictures seen about 1 or 2 years ago. Cheers harit

| Thanks harit....the car looks superb. An interesting thing on the Dilambdas is the very long bonnet considering its a narrow angle V8 almost the same sixe as a standard 4 cylinder engine of that period ! There must be a lot of space under the hood on these cars ???? Any engine pictures possible ? Which of the tourers has a Viotti body, the green or the blue one ? |

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Not sure if this has been recorded in this thread. The only Rolls Royce in the world which had a slanting grille and round doors. And the modifications were ordered by the Maharaja of Nanpara - who was the 2nd owner of this car. More details here : 1925 Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 Jonckheere Coupe | German Car Forum |
