Why do you want to scare them off before they make it to the meet?!!!

Avi, himanshu, and all now you know whom to be blamed if any of us don't make it to the meet .

hahaha! guilty conscious is it? well that was not the intent... just wanted people to realise that we all are so enthu about these meets and it really gets disappointing that last moment some dont get up/some forget about it...

we have 21 confirmations... atleast all these 21 should be there (unless there are emergencies) what say?

Hi Guys!!..I may be poking my nose in the wrong section but surely I see all Hyderbadians here

I am driving down to Hyd from Pune for a 5 day vacation with family (3 generations) on 25th evening,

I need help in identifying a good place to stay (does not mean expensive, thought of Nizam Club..but could not get the bookings)

and a local driver (preferably a retired company driver) who can drive us around while in Hyd. As this is our first trip to Hyderabad or Andhra Pradesh for that matter and I don’t want to struggle with finding roads and parking spots there.

btw.. I was trying to locate Automobile Association in Hyd. but could not locate, they usually offer the facility of hiring good driver on a casual/daily basis

not to mention.. I am building a must visit and must do list and if the local BHP meet happen during this period, I would love to drop in..

ah! thats easy! for 5 days i'd recommend the following (also considering you'd spend time with local relatives too, if any)-
  • Golconda fort (incl Sound n Light show after sunset): 5-6 hours
  • Salarjung Museum, Charminar, shopping at Lad Bazaar. if time n energy permits visit Chowmohala Palace nearby: 4-5 hours
  • Birla Mandir, Eat Street/Necklace Road, an IMAX movie (3D preferably). If time permits add Snow World - 1 day
  • you can hang out with entire clan for 1 day at one of the resorts like Lahiri, Pragati, Alankrita or the new Egypt themed one (forgot the name) nr Airport.
One of the days, try to sqeeze in a biryani session at Paradise. Dont commit the sin of missing this if you are a non-vegetarian!

Anupam:- Dont miss Ramoji Film city too man! yeah it will take a day for that ,but worth it!

Shilparamam @ hi tech city is like the delhi haat ,incase your wife wants to buy all those ethnic stuff ,thats the place to be!

Try calling Siri Elite Residency 9247333486 , 9866322207

Urban Stay's ,rate is around 1400 per day with breakfast ( 98499 39686)

These guys have the service apartments @ hi tech city ,you might want to stay there!

Thats good info even for me!
Instead of Paradise, please try out Bassera hotel(at clock tower secunderabad) for good biryani(if you are a non-veg). Paradise i feel has lost its sheen and no longer serves authentic Hyd Biryani.(There were days when I used to carry packed Paradise Biryani for my friends in Dubai enroute to UK!!)
