Got My Contessa

Today my dream came true. I had been looking for a contessa for some time now but all the cars that i saw were converted to diesel or the papers were incomplete. with each passing day my patience was running out and my family member were thinking that i had lost it

now coming back to the 08/02/09 yesterday i again went looking for a contessa. i came to know of car with a elderly man who at one time was a GM in a company.

I went to his place and the car was standing in the driveway with dust all over it. One look and i told my driver that i wanted this car no matter what the price was. we went talk to the owner and a deal was done

the car is all original each and every thing is working and the most shocking part is that the car only did 11005 KM documented TILL DATE and spare Tyre is dated JAN 96

Took the delivery of the car today morning, the old man even washed the car before i delivery

the only amount i spent on the car is rs 650\- for changing the door handles

BTW i named my conti MINNI

pics(will add more pics tomorrow)

Congrats Manik. American Muscle eh

How about V8 Conti vs Turbo Alto ? or fun run on the highway. From Chandigarh to Delhi. ICE it in Delhi and we will make sure you spend 10 times the cost of the car

And i seriously hope you change your driving style or take some PROFESSIONAL driving lessons! I don't want you giving free rides to people on long conti bonnet hehe

Congrats. Does square headlight mean 88 bhp version. Later ones came with less power. I'd get the quad lights with the newer grill.

Anyone know which year was the Contessa discontinued? I remember driving it for the first time when it was launched with the Isuzu engine. Man, it was a rocket ship back then.

Not really. Old generation engine, 0-60km/h in 7 secs, max 145km/h (150 down a slope).

Anyway, congratulations. The car looks neat and decently maintained. The body fittings are original. The door mirrors are aftermarket. Drive it around for a while. Get used to it before planing any modification. Try to get the quad headlights. They provide much better illumination.
