The upcoming Honda City facelift has been spotted during its official ad shoot in India. These are the first undisguised images of the India-spec model. Honda is expected to launch the car here in the first quarter of 2017.

The new City will get a comprehensively updated front styling, which borrows cues from the new-gen Civic. The headlamp assemblies have been redesigned and are expected to be full-LED units on the top-end model. The front grille is wider and houses a prominent chrome bar in the middle, which extends into the headlamps, similar to what has earlier been seen in the new Civic. The front bumper has also been tweaked to house large fog lamp enclosures.

The latest spy shots further reveal a new set of alloy wheels on the City facelift. Other than that, the side profile of the new City remains identical to that of the outgoing model. At the rear, the car gets redesigned tail lamps and a new boot-mounted spoiler that houses the high mounted stop lamp. The rear bumper has also been redesigned and now gets a blacked-out area in the lower portion.

The City facelift will just be a cosmetic update, and will thus be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines that are found on the current model. Once launched, the new City will try to take back its segment leader crown from the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
