re: Honda working on City Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs 8.5 lakhs

I wouldn't expect the same trims as in Thailand to be brought over to India. They will surely disappoint Indian Buyers in ways they have done with the BRV ( Audio system downgrade for Indians and no VX in CVT)

Guys notice that the boot-lip spoiler along with the two parking sensors are missing in the latest pictures, the rear now looks much better.

Even the front grill on the white car looks good enough.

Sent by one of my Facebook contacts.

Going by the looks, I wish the current generation version could have the option of changing this via direct plug and play. If not the grill the entire front with grill, headlight and bumper.

In the picture the tyre size seems to be 'thicker', which if true, is a good change.

Noticed that the Honda City has rather 'thin' tyres. Honda, India has it's own reasons for it (better FE etc.), but still when compared to the Polo, Ciaz, Etios etc., the tyres' look rather thin on Honda City cars.

re: Honda working on City Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs 8.5 lakhs

I think the current generation Honda City is well loaded and it is likely that Honda will add a bit more to that list to make it more competitive.

Expect following features in the top variant City
1. 16" alloy wheels
2. Auto projector headlamps (I don't expect India version to get LED headlamps)
3. LED DRLs
4. Height adjustable seat belt
5. 7"AVN
6. 6 Airbags

It will be interesting to see if any of the following features are added
1. Auto rain sensing wipers
2. Telescopic adjustable steering
3. 60:40 rear seat
4. Height adjustable headrest for rear seat
5. Colour TFT MID
6. Front Seat Belt with pre-tensioner & Load Limiter

February is when we can expect Honda to launch face-lifted City in India with deliveries from March.

In the current list of offers on their official site, Honda City is the only car which has offer running for 2017 model. Clearly shows that Honda will manufacture City for a month or two before launching its new version.

re: Honda working on City Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs 8.5 lakhs

I hope Honda has done something to fix the low speed ride over broken surfaces. It is harsh is an understatement. With 16 inch tires it will get even worse. As an owner of 2014 Honda city i can say this biggest weakness of the car in day to day usage in my experience.

The car really shines on smooth highways. The ivtech is a jewel getting even better with age. The sixth gear in MT would be a great addition. The current city does a relatively high 3000 rmp in fifth gear at around 100 kmph. A sixth gear would bring this down and increase fuel efficeny while cruising.

Just check out how close the resemblance is of the 2017 Honda City facelift to the current-gen Honda Civic.

Top part of the front bumper section, front grille, front chrome bar at center, front headlamp design kinks, DRL positioning & the chrome bar on top of the headlight glass. Even the placement of the hood lines!

I thought this is already present in the City. A friend of mine had an accident and they replaced the seat belt unit along with the airbag. I thought that was because the City has pretensioner. The mobilio webpage shows pretensioner, but no mention of it in the City page. Can anyone confirm?

Exclusive to Team-BHP: here are the first pictures of the 2017 Honda City facelift, Indian version.

Snapshots were taken during it's ad shoot which was conducted recently.

re: Honda working on City Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs 8.5 lakhs

Thank You For the Exclusive Pictures RavenAvi

I can see the Rear Spoiler with the Stop lamp on it. Whether this will be present across the range or only on Top Spec trim remains to be seen.

Alloys are Diamond Cut Finished, but they resemble the one's on the Updated S-Cross (They are almost the same).

This color also seems to be new, looks more like Grey (Polished Metal Metallic) but that color isn't on offer in any of their cars here. While the Urban Titanium is more of a Brownish Grey Shade.

Overall, I think Honda have done enough changes to make it a competitive package. The car does look even more appealing now. Well done Honda.

Wow Team BHP does it again !
Well done Honda as well. I think this facelift will take the City to the top of the charts and Ciaz better be worried. The New Verna expected in 2017 is a real disaster IMHO and the Vios will probably be launched in 200when !

Awesome work by your birdies sir. Did they give any indications of the launch date/pricing ?

Dealers in Mumbai are still not sure of the same. I am looking forward to buy the top MT variant.

IMO, that should be Urban Titanium only. Honda might have polished the vehicle for the photo shoot .
I drive UT Amaze. When the car is brand new, UT colour looks almost the same as shown in the above images.

I also think this is a new shade and not urban titanium - that has a distinctly brown shade to it.

Awesome scoop tbhp, looks similar to the earlier pics. Although, to be frank is this that much different from the current gen to warrant a 50k price increase (25-30k current discounts + 25-30k hike)? I guess the spec sheet will answer this.

Exactly my thoughts. I do not see much difference between this and the current model. With projector head lamps and drls (I have seen instances of elegantly done additions and it looks quite good), the current gen model would not look much different from this facelift!
