By the time the event happens My ford Endeavour will be equipped with the following:

1. 2" ironman lift kit
2. Ironman underbody protection
3. Geolandar AT Tyres

I have a 4T tow strap, D shackles, tyre pressure gauge. Only thing missing is a rear tow hook. But for emergency situations we can attach shackles to the leaf springs I guess.

Please let me know if I can come.
Hi Vishnu,

The real problem for a well-driven SUV is that what ever you do or how well you drive the paint will get scratched, rock rash!!!!!Bush Polish!!!!.

The event is a must attend, for many reasons.

Use the 2 months to prepare the Endy.

Regards,

Arka

Arka, even if I get a front bumper, new torsion bars, Poly Urethane bush kit, and underbody protection, do you honestly think I can make it through without scratching up the paint too much?

Maybe I'd better pass on this one. Sounds extremely intimidating. Is there a link to an OTr report of this terrain? Will have a look for myself.

Re: Bangalore Annual Offroading Event January 2012

^^ Check the previous 2 years report on this forum Vishnu.

What happened to your buying a Gypsy / Jeep? Its better suited for Avalakonda than the endy, but if you have a spare, then no issues man. A LWB can do it in style but certain sections are tricky and need careful anticipation.

Welcome!

Hi Vishnu,

I am no expert but I second that. Endy is a misfit on this trail.

Here are the last 2 years reports. I missed this years, however I had a blast with my ol' tincan last year. Challenging trail and well organized.

Lots of damage for the best of Jeeps and Gypsies as well.

You would need lot more articulation that a lifted Endy can deliver.

Who remembers the non-annual event - 'Scorpio slip and tree inside the window' story...

endy333 - sometime in 2009 IIRC, a scorpio slipped sideways and had a tree branch forked inside the rear quater glass (between B and C pillar) - it broke the glass of course - but it took a super effort to winch it sideways to take out the tree from the scorpio!!

27th and 28th please.

In the recent somwarpet Otr there were around 95 vehicles and the event was organized well.

First 50 vehicles started from second half of the trail ,later finished the first half.

Second 50 odd vehicles started from first half and finished.

This way every body were able to complete the trail on time.

SUGGESTION: Can we have some 4x4 accessories stall at the base camp this time.

swastik fabs, cavader prad, lamda, wild craft... Etc.

Looking forward for a wonderful event.

There was a Nissan Patrol (LWB), 2 Scorpios, 1 LR Defender, 1 Land Cruiser (LWB), and 1 tame looking Suziki SUV in this OTR of Avalakondu. Was this a tamer trail than is planned for January?

These vehicles seemed to make it through alright but not without some scratches and damage. Saw the Scorpios had removed their front bumper. I will most likely do the same for future OTRs too.

Anyway, you all have more or less convinced me out of coming for the Bangalore OTR. I'd rather not damage my Endy to that extent. Will start with more basic OTRs at first to get some more experience and once my Endy is looking like that beastly Patrol in a few months or so I will look at next years Bangalore OTR!

Great trails though. I'm jealous of all of you that have got to participate so far!

Kindly mention the last entry date. What does the day 1 and day 2 have to offer apart from venue? Are the accommodation arrangements to be done by the participants or organizers?

Please post related details.

Looking forward to being there to meet my South Indian Brothers and ofcourse enjoying the event.
