Last time I couldn't make it for teh OTR (December 09), but this time I'm definitely in - Imran, 9870094988...

Hi Guys,was back at the OTR site today for a review.
My findings:
1- The place is very harsh and easily tiring .
2- Its windy and the sun does bite .
3- The area is too large ,roughly 21 square miles and covering it in a go would be impossible.
4- Not much inhabitation so, no food joints, cafe's or for that matter a "loo' for a long time to come.
5- Its extremely dusty,hence those with open jeeps may look like they have come out from the sets of "mummy"(the movie).
6-Phones work well due to the good network.

Hence in my opinion it would be advisable to come with a vehicle in good condition,have a sunscreen lotion,cap and good quality shoes so as not to slip.
Water is highly essential and at least 3 litres per person.

It would be so nice if those interested could confirm with the number of persons so that food can be arranged.

@ sab4X4 ; This place is 22 km from Khopoli,come towards Pen by the Khopoli-Pen Road, ask for "Dagadkhan" near Sawarsai. My number is 9823162649 should you have any problem. I will look up in my log and post you the GPS coordinates.

Rahul from Delhi is flying all the way to attend this Preliminary OTR.

Guys like Dev and Allan can have a look at the place & they can decide a future 4WD track.

Mohan,

You have discovered great terrain for OTRs. Definitely this spot rocks and will be sufficient for 6 months of OTRs of different challenges.

some final touchup is in process, like lights and finishing.

lets catchup soon, really want to do some harcore offroad, its been quite long.

I am formally applying for the post of senior water boy for the event.

Coordinating with Tejas by PM to arrange a ride from Chembur.
If anyone else driving will be passing by that area please let me know as as backup.

Anyways, what time are we planning to reach the OTR site? How many clicks is it away from the Khalapur exit?

If we know these two details, then we can coordinate individual meeting times in our respective cities.
