From Khalapur exit it is 22 km to the entry point.
Therafter it is another 6 km winding road up the mountains.
Once at the top ,you decide when to stop driving.

Example:
If we could all possibly assemble by 9:00 am, we could reach the OTR spot by 10:00 am.
We could drive along,have lunch,cold drinks etc till maybe 4:00pm.
Descend and hit the highway by 5:00pm
Believe me the best part would be the sunset(at around 6:00 pm,in that case you hit the highway at 7:00 pm).

Anyone for a night OTR some other time?
We can make camping arrangements too,complete with night fire,dinner ..

I have fixed up all the possible issues with my Mini Pajero and want to test the beast.

Would be doing some testing this week to avoid any last minute issues.

Good idea. Am open to it. If we are not doing the overnight thingy, i suggest let's meet up early. No sense in meeting at 9am (people are always late). Let's meet by 7:30am at Khalapur rather and complete the track before noon.

it doesnt make sense if its not overnight. coming back home and leaving in morning doesnt make sense.

second if you are saying lets go early in the morning do you think people will be able to wakeup on sunday morning after a wild saturday night??

regarding the cable, we got it custom made but you can try buying it from sewri (shivdi) whatever. it has a dockyard near by so they sell stuff like this if you cant get it anywhere then tell me i will try to source it for you.

I meant either do the overnight OTR, stay back and do an early morning one as well. OR if not, then make an early morning one.

overnight i am game for it.

cable we got it made in bulk for some 900 bucks its 1.5 mtr iron made, pretty strong,

you can get longer one made also. see mine on sunday.

There are lot of shops near Masjid Bunder Station where you get good ropes used on ships, may be it will help.

I am ready for Sunday early morning.

We can meet at the Mc' Donalds Kalamboli right where the Express Highway starts at 7:00AM. As per the Google Map there is a Petrol Pump there so we can get the tanks filled and head for Khalapur.
