Hi Firoz,

Check with the Door to Door service there. Here they charging 10SR per Kg. I think one rim will weight around 9-10kg. So approx you have to add 500Dhs to your budget for 5 pcs. But the plus point is that you will get a wide choice there which is not available in India.

Are these brand new rims ? If so,are they readily available in MASS or any other place or do we have to place an order ?

I dont think there should be any problem with gypsy rim on full lock since you are also reducing on the OD of wheel even if they have an offset.

Between are these brand new rims?? If new are they OE or MGP??

Yes, these are brand new rims and I can vouch for their quality and finish. I bought them from my local spare parts shop who supplies spare parts for M&M, Tata, Force etc. He didn't have them in stock, he claims to have ordered them from Delhi, it took about a week to get here.

Meanwhile, I did some quick calculations. The Width of the wheel as measured from end to end(approx) = 100mm + 65 mm + 5 mm = 170mm

Centre should be around 170/2=85mm, but from the calculations, it is 100mm from the inner side. Which means a positive offset of 100-85=15mm. I wonder if the LP1015 stamped on the rim means Low Positive 10-15mm. Hope I'm not making a fool of myself here. We do tend to get a little obsessed with the details once we start hurtling down the restoration/modification path and I,for one, thoroughly enjoy making these calculations while staring away into nothingess.

Hi All,

I am thinking of buying alloys from dubai for my MM550. I am thinkin of getting 16" wheels? I know that the bolts needs to be 5 lugs. Other than that I am totally unaware.

Can the experts here guide me please on how to measure the PCD on a wheel and how the 139 is attained? Also what is offset and what offset should I aim for?

Hi Firoz,

Please ask the shop guy for disks with PCD 139.7mm or 5.5 inch. I think the size will be stamped or stickers on it.

Infact 255 is very common in the Goodyear Wrangler A/T pattern.

Maybe you need to look at some good tyre shops in your/nearby towns

Goodyear wrangler 255 comes in 16" not 15". Does anyone know if any all-terrain tyre comes in 255/65/R15 or 275/60/R15 configuration.

Guys i am getting 2 sets of tyres for my Jeep's from dubai. These are almost new tyres (I know that sounds confusing) I know someone in leading car showroom in Dubai, they change the new or almost brand new tyres they chnage it to there custom tyres. Brands available : Mickey Thomson/Pirelli/Bridgestone/Good year. Let me see if this route actually works or is it just another made up thing. Once i get my tyres i will be posting a detail report of cost involved and tyre pics. What has been promised me is half price of what we get here in India. Anyone else aware of this? Please post your suggestions.

ok guys dont curse for posting this here as my stinger is a 2WD, but i just wanted to show off my baby's new shoes :D i guess it qualifies as my scorpio does go offroad a LOT.

thanks khan and others, who helped me choose. i upgraded from stock 15" bridgestone HTs on steel rims to 16" BFGs (235 70 R16) on EVO alloys. hope you guys like the wheels.
