Don't wheels always carry the load, why does that become immense only on rock? Wheels are always between the chassis and the ground. It can become immense if the impact happens at highspeed or if one does indulge in show jumping the Jeep/Gypsy. The tyres are not fully deflated, they are just halved at the most.

The actual diameter of a typical 7.5-16 offroad tyre is ~32".
235/75R15 or 235/70R16 are 29" tyres. 235/85R16 is a 32" tyre, but being wider than 7.5-16, it should be installed on a 6.5" rim.

I have taken my MM540XD up to Kanakpura/Muthathi and the nearby off-road Trails and the only problem was in mud/slush.

Most people run the MRF Sand Grip over inflated to get the best out of the tyre.

some suggest Tyre Pressure for the MRF Sand Grip.

Road - 28-35 psi depending on the Wheel Disc.

Sand - 10-15 psi

Rocks -15-20 psi

Trails - 20 psi

After 15-20K kms the tyre is suitable for only Road and Sand use.

I am too thinking of buying Apolo Bullets on my MM550.
I would just like to know the difference in MRF Sandgrips and Apolo Bullets.
I think that the tread pattern is similar so is it just the branding which is different. Will the preformance of the Bullets be better or worse compared to sandgrips??
I am buying the Bullets as sandgrips are not available.

Great, I will be waiting for your review, I'm literally running my jeep on slicks these days. Will need to get rid of them before monsoons hit Delhi.

Don't worry my father was at the workshop today and discussing tyres with the mechanic as the current army tyres have no tread left on them. Some other customer gave his much valued opinion which was along the lines of - you could not buy tyres as good as the army ones as they were very tough and we should not replace them but carry on running on them as they arelol:

@ Harjeev - I have a 2001 model army disposal MM550. Interestingly I too bought it from Padam only. I am running the sandgrips that came with it.
Though I made Ganesh swap the tyres with other jeeps that had better tread left. They served me for last 5000 kms.

@ bigman - Actualy that person isnt entirely wrong. Sandgrips are hard as nails. I have had just one flat so far that too after some serious off-roading off road and on road (jumping dividers, driving over potholes etc)
But breaking is scary outright. It swerves right and left before coming to a halt. The person in front almost pees in the pants.

Yeah i also think these are there in Kitti's jeep. Though i saw this alloy in website long back but never enquired about it in any shop as yet. They match the PCD and the bolt pattern.

Can someone please help me to source either Apollo Bullet or MRF Sandgrips (size 7.50, 16") in Kerala or the neighboring cities like Chennai or Bangalore. I am finding it very difficult source the same tyres in Calicut. Any help on this matter is very much appreciated.
