the attached picture says it all!
I would suggest administer the coup de grace to this thread, a la the jeep itself, before it becomes a long drawn out lament.

I think a resurrected Major is out of scope.

If that is confirmed - we can all give our last rights to the Major and close this thread after a few days. :(

The Major has Army, agricultural and rural roots. Its engine came from a tractor. It most definatly is not an SUV. Therefore it is bad, bad, bad. Spike, the caste system in India ain't quite dead

The ARAI should put its foot down & curtail the manufacturing & sale of such hazards on road. Till they comply with latest safety/emission norms, nothing doing on Indian roads.

Good riddance finally!

^^ARAI has nothing to do with manufacturing and sale of products in the country, it is a mere certifying agency.

Well what he meant was MoST thru CMVR should increase the basic safety guidelines to be adhered to in any vehicle.

Now I hope you have the correct lingo along with procedure

P.S: Ooh and the above should be done in consultation with SIAM ( a little difficult as Pawan Goenka is the present Chairman)

No certification, so no sale, therefore no manufacturing! Good for the ones who work on reverse feedback mech. There's no other ways to stop the sale of such old dilapidated models.
