Just get it as soon as possible and please don't go for the winch or hardtop just as yet otherwise we'll not see the jeep for another 6 months

Hi Randeep

This is the best colour on a 550 I have seen so far. All our group 550s are military green which is now getting a bit boring (no offence to Harjeev). The finishing is very good as well.

Cheers buddy

Very true, the dash is form the Bolero. The original is slightly wider on the sides therefore had to heat the plastic and fold the same inwards. Apart from the new holes for fitting the 4 screws under the windscreen need to be drilled and steel plates need to be fabricated to give support to the dash from below. Apart from this no major mods required. I wanted the dash to be fitted below the windscreen as I wanted to use a drop down windshield. If you want a fixed windshield then I think you would not need to do the first mod that I mentioned. The Bolero Dash without the AC vents costed me 4.2 K.

Cheers !!!!!!!!

Randeep
Thanks for the reply Randeep. One thing I wonder- The dashboard is protruding outwards. Isn't that going to hinder the forward movement of the gear lever? Did you check it?

Hi Saikat,

As mentioned earlier, there is going to be enough space for the levers to move forward as I am have the lever bent slightly forward. We had installed the lever and checked the positioning.

Cheers !!!!!!!

Going good Randeep, after a long wait atlast the finish line is in sight Love the color. The red would have been an eye catcher but this is color is also very nice!

Couple of questions

I see that the bumper the roll bar have not been painted yet, will they be painted after the fittings? IMO you should get them done before the fittings!

What about your registration? Is that done? You might have mentioned this earlier but it has been a while since I read this whole thread so please re-englighten me

Hi Jatt Boy/Allana

@Jatt Boy - The bumper and roll bar have already been pained, they were not painted in the pics because they were yet to get aligned. Once the proper placement and housing for the roll bar was finalized it went for paint.

The registration I had got done within 4 days of purchasing the Jeep last Nov. It was done in Jaipur.

@Allana - You are most welcome to visit the garage anytime. Whenever you are in Delhi next, let me know and we can plan a trip to Jaipur.

Cheers !!!!
