Do the year of the tires really matter? They are just a few years old and have not been under the weight of a parked vehicle to get deformed.

Of course there is a problem. Rubber is an elastomer and will change its properties when exposed to air, heat and other factors, even when not in use.

The tyre will be degraded and safety will become an issue. The rubber often hardens and the steel inside them will corrode making them dangerous on the roads

Ganesh,
You have done a good job on the Jeep with the chrome grill and the dual colour tone. Personally I feel the roll over is too sloping in the rear, which will give it a hunch back kind of look especially after the top is streched over it.
You dont need alloys as Jeeps look best in their rugged and solid appearence.
Regards,

Yes Fazal was right! The rear slope is a bit too much.

BUT...Chrome grill calls for chrome alloys! Go the Bling JEEP way mate!

Ganesh, IMO, the roll bar will look better in black. too prominent and loud on the SWB.

Either way nicely restored. Nice clean engine bay.

Also IMO - Stick to steel rims.

I'll give you a shout out if I see you in Namma Roads.

Thanks for the compliments.. I wanted the roll bar angle to match the slope of the windshield, but I think it has slanted a bit more than I had wanted. Also, the angle of the cross bar in the rear gives it an exaggerated hunched look. I actually like it!

As far as the top goes, my plan is to have (1) a bikini top for the front canopy (2) which then rolls back to cover the rear and (3) a separate full soft top. Remember that my canopy is not connected to the windshield, hence I can put the W/S frame down and still retain 1 & 2.

I have decided to go with the Alloys.. I will either try to maintain the black/silver combo or as you said go bling all the way and get chrome alloys!

My whole jeep is kinda jazzy. I though about "going black" - out and out or go "bollywood ishtyle". Since it is a toy more than anything, and it has to match my black and chrome bullet, decided on the latter.

I guess, on the plus side, it will be real easy to spot me on the bengaluru roads, eh?

Ganesh - your jeep looks rugged and tuff ... now waiting for the shoes to complete the look

Wow Ganesh, there has been lots of progress since the last time I saw it:thumbs up. I know the time and effort you have put into getting it to this state. Well Done!!

Hey Ajay, we could have seen Ganesh's jeep in real when we met up yesterday. We even drove within 1 km of Ganesh's house but somehow I forgot all about it:Frustrati.

Santosh
No problemo ... we can meet up with him the next time I come that side, which should be in about 2 weeks.
