I got mine from the states. They are only about 70 USD each, but getting them down is a problem as they won't allow you to check it into a passenger flight. You will have to send it by courier/mail.

This is Mine. It took me 3 years to bring to this state. i know its a long time but the explanation is simple, "when i had the time i had no money, when i had the money i had no time".

Its a 1966 American Jeep Kaiser Dj6!

Hi Staten1, nice looking Jeep. Is the winch mounted at the center or there is an offset?

Awesome

Hi Staten1, thats a awesome looking Jeep and the Alloys are to die for, gives it a Killer Look. BTW i think Orange is the colour of the season, first Allan's Orangie, then Arjun, ROADDOG and this one, it seems the Offroading community has picked this colour as a favourite one.

Thanks everybody!!

@ Spike Arrestor: its a bit off-center because of the power steering unit that os mounted next to it. well i guess its ok because the rollers will handle the rest!

@ Jeepster: i did want to sell it at one point of time but not any more.

@4x4 cruiser: thanks again for the compliments!! i had this paint job done sometime last december. Its a pearlesant paint which keeps on changing according to the time of the day. will try n up-load more detailed pictures of the paint job so that you can notice the flakes (glitter in the ceramic lacquer).

regards

Staten1

hi Spkie,

it is a bit offcenter due to the powersteering unit next to it. bothing to worry because of the rollers are there to compensate.

@Staten1- what rims are you using and what tyres are these? Can you also tell their size. Also did you buy them locally?

The rims are from PCW, a very old brand which used to be around about 8-10 years back. the size is 15inch/5 hole, 139pcd.... same as the Gypsy. the tyres are from Khumo and are a set of 32/11.5 r 15. im not very sure if they are locally available... i got it down through a friend.

Jeep gurus ?
Surely not a guru but let me take a stab at it. For one the engines were different. The Kaiser came with Petrol engines AFAIK. The Hurricane, the Dauntless and a few more variants.

Also, I think the Kaiser had a slightly longer wheel base though am not quite sure how much. And something that was present in the old 540s but not in the more recent ones is that the round indicators were present under the headlights. Now (last 10-15 years I think) they come with those rectangular ones on the front fenders.

I love the Kaiser look way more than the CJ3 look. Gives so much more scope for customization/mods. Not sure if many people would agree to that though.

Cheers,
Adi

Neat jeep man , i saw this kaiser in flesh at the RD350 meet in Bangalore , all eyes were moved from the 150 odd RDs to this jeep when it arrived . Its a monster . Add a pair of Free wheeling hubs to complete it

staten1,
Thats nice to know that you now have both, the money and the time to now enjoy your 3 year build. It is a definitely handsome Jeep, just right and not overdone.

@Fazil Ali Adil: trust me now all the money is over and only the jeep is left

@ Kandisa: those seats are a set of recliners that i have had over the last 5 years, they are imported and extremely comfortable.
