Supposedly a concept in Bologna Motor Show 2008, can't comment beyond that.

Interestingly it has full-floating axle. I thought they only gave it in military and loading carrying models.

How? Thar doesn't have snorkel intake, it can't do water fording as much as Gurkha.

its called re-cycling by M&M! in these tough times of world wide economic depression, M&M is using its dated dead stock and making sure cost cutting take place, thats why they are utilising the armada dashboard in thar!

cheers:

Mahindra can't come out of its cheapness, shades of Red, writing "Mahindra" in bold letters wherever possible, even on the bull bars, its R&D is gasping for some fresh air!

Just bring back the MM540 with
1. Disc brakes
2. Power steering
3. HVAC.
4. Sorted out NVH levels.
And Mahindra would sell in decent numbers, not many can afford to plonk 6 lacs for a Big Boy Toy. The THAR if launched as a recreational vehicle will sell in "Limited" numbers (PUN intended)

Dashboards can be painted, replaced. Those useless tailpipe-gage roll bars can be chucked for real ones.

Full floating axles pre-empt the need for snorkels.

Mahindra launched the Legend which is basically an army mm550 with alloys/radials/extra lights and a winch. At about 7 lakhs a piece, Mahindra sold all of them. I don't see any issues with selling the Thar at about the same price.

As per I remember, Legend was sold on invitation basis (around 50 pieces may be). The 'extra' alloys and lights were craps to say the least! If something like this (without any modifications as wished for in another thread) is rolled out for general public through normal sale channel, I doubt how many will be interested to buy in that kind of price.

Hi Desert King,

Your vehicle sure looks a bit like the Thar. The roll cage is more or less the same. Your jeep looks fantastic, with a little more effort it could look amazing.

Cheers !!!

This review says it has lockable diffs, that's news to me.
