@Wickedwheels
Your 550 is very neatly done up. I guess the light color in the MM550 looks even better than the traditional Olive green!!!

D day tomorrow

A long due update..... I got the jeep moved from my friends garage to another garage in borivili itself as the work was not happening as expected. THe place the jeep is now work has been done at a ferrous pace .

THe entire engine has been stripped down checked and put back together.
Bosh pump has been given to a autohorised bosh service center and has been service.
New clutch plates/pressure plates
Alternator serviced.
Entire brakes serviced/new boster in place.
Axles checked berrings changed.

With all this fixed the jeep was taken for a test drive on 5th Jan 2010 thats the first time i saw my baby move but as the test drive got over we figured out there was some wierd noise in the gear box, due to which i dint get to drive her

Once back at the garage the top of the gear box was opend and it was the most wierd think ever it was like a choclate milkshake in there the entire gear box was filled with water/oil. so the entire gear box has been removed and serviced. Main Berrings changed.
the funny part is the differntials dint have a drop of water in them and had good oil in em which made us think the gear box would be ok

7th Jan 10 everything has been put back together a final check is gona be done and then she goes to the paint shop.
So today 8th JAn 10 is d day for me to take a quick spin so fingers x ed.

Pics tomorrow

Congrats David for the excellent buy and Kudos to Harjeev for helping you out.
Your ride looks great and looking a Harjeev's changed signature, im sure he will be aiming at another buy.
Harjeev, could you look out one for me too?? Not joking Seriously.

My mechanic's got one and hes making it a super duper OTR Safari type with a snorkel et all so hes doing all the research for the same.

Time for a MM550 and then making it OTR friendly like Allan's

David, am keeping my eyes glued to this thread as it, along with a few others are going to form my tutorials for my job!!

There are ceiling fans hanging in your jeep . Seriously, the painter must be extreamly lazy to slow the work down like this. You are living my dream of owing and restoring a jeep. Please keep us updated.
