Sree, I read that thread with great interest, would this kind of conversion hold true for the double lever t-18 case as well ?

Assuming that I buy a 2.6 CRDe Scorpio engine, get a NGT 530. Will it mate with the t18 2 lever case which is in my JEEP ?

I don't see a reason why it should not. Essentially xfercase remains same. Double liver is a simple mechanism whereas single lever has linkages. There is no other difference. I have a single lever T-18 transfercase.

Thanks

Sorry if this is a bit of a dampener but the NGT520/530 BA10 2wd gearboxes cannot be directly bolted on with any transfer case. You need an adapter plate for the T18 and a different kind for the BW transfer case.
This is the adpter for the BW transfer case on the right. The adapter on the left is from the stock 2wd gearbox.

This is the NGT to T18 adapter.

Really exciting specifications. Looking forward to the build. Have you sourced the 550 as well, and what happens to it's powertrain?

On a serious note, cant wait to see the completed product. Do you have good mechs in mumbai when it comes to these things? Ive heard a lot from only up north so far...

Allan, what are floating seats, one with springs like in a chopper?
no mechs this time, doing it myself
seats will be normal, floating will be the base as used in the old pajeros, the have shock absorbers and springs for comfort

Glad to be of help Allan.
Just one more thing. If the tyres you plan to use are 31 inchers, you will have to change your diff ratios to 5.375:1 (43/8). Anything bigger and you will need the 5.75:1 diff.
Using the stock 4.88 ratio will rob your engine of all power.

Hi Allan,

Nice JEEP, Nice Colour and Nice Mechanical Upgrade.

Now for a Custom Skid Plate & Winch Plate.

Keep 4.88:1 Differential Ratio and Maxxis Big-Horn (245-75-16 Tyres on the Army Rims and Rear Auto-Lockers)

I would suggest to keep the looks sober, like a stock Army MM550XD, but the performance will be scorching.

Very Interesting Project.

Regards,

Arka

Hmm, interesting. This combination ^^ is present in a few export 4wd models.

Spike

PS- Allan what about the rear propeller shaft. Is the position of the transmission mounting cross member the same?
