Anyway, the problem is solved. I just have to rename the file, remove the extension and the upload is then seamless.

Glad to hear that. Though it still sounds like you're having to do some extra work.

I checked with a few other people with Mac computers, and none of them faced this issue -- so it seems to be something specific with your setup, in case you wish to do some more digging around to fix it.

No - it's present. The part of my post you quoted basically says that the inserted attachment also shows the filename, making it easier for you to know what the photo contents might be.

For how to add captions above the photos, do see post #2 here : Uploading Photos

Am unable to upload an mp4 video using my phone? Is this format not accepted at T-BHP?

No, I don't think so. Only YouTube embedding for videos i guess.

Not at the moment...

Out of curiosity, how big is the MP4 file you are trying to upload?

Trying to upload 4 Mb.

Is youtube the only way to upload videos? Have a MP4 file which I would like to upload to the accidents thread.

Yes. Currently Youtube is the best way to share a video on the forum.

I am facing Two Problems in Uploading Pictures and need help / advice

1. I do not see the option of Uploaded picture in Text format to add details of the picture and further continue adding more pictures and their details in "One Single Post". Thus, I have to keep on making more and more posts to continue my thread (in Travelogues).

As stated in your thread starter post Attachment filenames are now displayed in posts, making it easier to add captions does not appear in my case.

2. Some of the Pictures in Portrait mode get rotated ,to appear in Landscape mode. However, if I save them back on my Computer, rotate them and upload them again, they do come up fine - as required.

Why do pictures uploaded by me appear boxed with caption "Attached Thumbnail" ?

Consistently getting this error on Firefox when trying to upload 24 pictures each less than 4MB

Is the WYSIWYG editor turned on for your browser? It only appears on some browsers, but if it's present you should see another button here (in the red circle):
Name: replyCapture.PNG
Views: 594
Size: 14.3 KB

Clicking it to turn WYSIWYG off should fix these problems.

You can also turn it off here. Second last box, choose "Standard Editor".

This in unfortunately a bug / difference in standards in how some cameras/softwares rotate images.

Are you resizing/rotating the images using a particular software (eg. MS Paint) before uploading them?

As per your PM, glad to hear this was circumvented by using another device.

I am facing some issues since yesterday while trying to use some image files. When uploading the images, all of them are successfully showing in the manage attachment window. When I insert the images into the post, the corresponding code for the images is showing correctly. However, when I preview the post, some .jpg files and .png files are visible while others are not. For the ones that are not visible, I get the following code in the preview window.

Name: 2008.jpg Views: 0 Size: 135.1 KB

Is there any workaround for this? Ive never faced this issue earlier.

Sorry about this.

There's some corruption in one of the tables in our database that is causing this. We should have it fixed soon.

For now, the <800px images will not show in the preview, however, they will show up fine when you submit the post.
