These exotics guys are pretty tight lipped about, understandably so. He bought it used. Single owner. But the new one is around 9.5 lacs if I'm not mistaken?

Vow, mind blowing price of a simple cycle. Of course it must be full carbon fibre. What else makes this bike so pricey?

It's Italian. And has won more Tour de France's in the last 10 years than any other bike.

And has near identical geometry to the equally legendary Cannondale CAAD frames.

Look at the first photo of the Dogma and the CAAD side by side.

Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!-img_20211017_081123.jpg

Now see the comparison of the frame geometry of the CAAD8 and the Dogma F8 and F12. Uncanny.

Golden Gate/Basket bridge, Ravet. Nice fog in the mornings now. Not yet arm sleeve/long sleeve cold though.

Nice pics there Doc. You were so near to my home. Had you given me a shout from the basket bridge, I would have come running to meet you in no time. Next time when you hit that route give me a shout. Indeed it was awesome climate today morning. One of my hiking group friends sahred the below picture taken from top of Ghoradeshwar. The Chaurai Devi hill peeping out from a think white blanket of clouds and Dongarwadi can be seen in the background.

I've rekindled my love for this iconic "flyover intervals" loop of Poona so will definitely sync up. Used to do it 2018 timeframe on the ACT pretty regularly, when a lot of the flyovers were still not complete.

You are good with names man! I need fat big landmarks to navigate, and definitely will be lost with all the names. In fact I only recognised Ghoradeshwar because it's a segment on Strava that I have been PRing on recently! Lol And for me the Mandir is the main landmark for my 60 km loops turnaround point.

But yes, this spot is famous for its beautiful cloud vistas, especially in the monsoons.

However, if you've noticed, the rains are barely over and already some hills have gone straw yellow from the bright emerald green just a couple of weeks back. In fact it's clearly visible in your friend's photo as well. October midday heat baking would surely have contributed.

Cheers, Doc

Awesome clicks there! The bike and the background really blends well.

I was in a bike shop over the weekend and saw this 2008 CAAD8 on sale there; kind of a rarity on roads nowadays (picture from the shop's website).

Thanks VB. This is a beautiful American made CAAD. Before they moved their frame manufacturing to Taiwan. Beautiful original paint as well.

Cannondale gives you a lifetime warranty on their bikes. But only on the original paint. Repainted bikes are void.

Enjoyed both the ascent and the descent. In fact we continued towards Bababudangari after this and we ended up with 100 kms with an elevation gain of 2000 meters.

Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

First weekend ride on the new bike – 78.5 kms. And the initial impressions are quite positive:
  • Much more aggressive riding position than the FX3 – demanding but fun.
  • Like the sporty feel –the handlebar position and length is spot on (600mm).
  • Feels faster, and easier on climbs – maybe the better crankset and tyres? The avg. speed was 21.5; could have been better if not for the heavy pedestrian traffic on the route back home.
  • Not that much of noticeable difference in the shift quality (Sora v/s Alivio/Acera).
  • Refinement is not close to the Trek, but the BMC is much more communicative.
  • The contact points are made of special Swiss rocks I believe. The saddle and grips are super-hard; will continue with this for a month or so and will change if I don’t get used to it.

Stunning photo! Amazed at how radically dropped the seat stays are on this one. I think its their signature look, even on their roadies.

Call it a hunch, but I think you will keep the Trek.

Cheers, Doc

Re: Post pictures of your Bicycle on day trips here!

Did the 2nd Century plus Practice Ride to Kondeshwar, Jambhavli. We were 4 of us. Major part of the initial 28kms was old Mumbai-Pune highway till Kamshet. Then we took a right turn towards Nane Maval, Kambre etc. That 22 km road (baring a few 100 mts patch) is simply awesome. Very well laid and scenic throughout. The last patch of 1km till we reach Kondeshwar is very rough but ridable. The name Kondeshwar comes from the multi-level waterfall behind the temple, forming numerous kunds (ponds), I guess there were 5 levels. Enjoy the pics below.

Picturesque ride as always bro. Can you share where exactly this misal place is? Looks nice!

The CAAD posing today morning. The straw by her side is for our new pet, Peter the bull.
